Description
Material
The Apollo shaft, weighing in at 150g, is one of the lightest metal shafts in the Maverik family. Made from scandium titanium materials, this shaft features military-grade consistency.
Shaft Design
This shaft features “Dynamic Wall Taper” technology. This is an extrusion process that tapers the wall thickness of the shaft. This process puts added material in areas of the shaft that see the most abuse and cuts weight in areas that can afford it.
Cross Section
The shaft has a slightly concave shape to it along the two lateral side walls. The other 6 walls are flat. It’s a nice combination of concave and regular so you can feel how the shaft is sitting in your hand while also having a traditional feel to it.
Exterior Finish
The shaft coating and finish are unique to the Apollo. The exterior is coated with a subtle texturised rubber finish in the grip areas. It’s just enough to provide some grip but not to the level where it’s rough and abrasive and will chew your gloves. The shaft has a polished matte finish which gives it a sleek look.
Accessories
The Maverik attack shafts for 2023 feature the Adjustable Butt-End (ABE). A features a new design which is an ever so slight change from previous versions. But it still maintains the great ability to place the butt end where you want and it will stay and give you great performance.
The shaft also features a complimentary tool from Maverik that fits two screw heads. One is a Phillips head to screw your shaft into your head and the other is to adjust the ABE screw. And who doesn’t need a screwdriver in their kit? There’s always someone who needs one.
